- Cookie Dough Dip Recipe
Our Easy Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dip came about one day because of something terrible I saw at the store. I just can’t wrap my head around it!
I was shopping at a certain warehouse store one day. You know the one, it’s huge, everything is bought in bulk and although you only went in for toilet paper you left having tried 50 samples, bought half of the stuff and you really didn’t need any of it. Ahem, salted chocolate covered caramels and taquitos, how did you get in my cart?! And, AND!!!!!! You somehow spent $500!
Where did that come from?! I’m pretty sure there were only 5 items in this huge cart, but there goes my money!!!

Focus, Focus, Focus
Ok, so there I am, pushing that big ol’ cart around when out of the corner of my eye I see something that stops me in my tracks. I was just approaching the section of soups, pesto, pasta and hummus, you know what I’m talking about here, and I see the most atrocious thing ever, Cookie Dough Hummus.
Wait!!
Not just cookie dough hummus, but brownie batter hummus too! YOU GUYS!!! What is happening here? (Side note, “I see what’s happening here…” from Moana is now running through my mind. Not only am I a food blogger, mom and shopper, but apparently I’m also 6 years old.)
Who eats cookie dough hummus?!

Cookie Dough Hummus
I’m seriously so confused. And no, no I did not buy it just out of curiosity. I couldn’t even make eye contact with it!
Do you eat it with cookies? Or treat it like hummus and pita/veggie it up?
I’m bothered.
I’m disturbed.
I am making real easy chocolate chip cookie dough dip when I get home. And I did.
Easy Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dip
I really had no choice. Don’t you agree? I had to get rid of that image in my head and that weird flavor trying to creep into my mouth.
This easy chocolate chip cookie dough dip is the real deal minus the eggs which could possibly kill you.
All you need to make this dessert dip is:
- Butter
- Cream Cheese
- Vanilla
- Powdered Sugar
- Mini Chocolate Chips

Death By Cookie Dough
By the way, the eggs have never stopped me from eating cookie dough. In fact, growing up my sister, who was much older and could drive when I was still in Elementary school, would trade me, she’d pick up a Blockbuster if I’d make the cookie dough.
Done and Done.
If that’s the way I’m going to die, let it be so. In fact, I want the word spread that I was really happy and alone, and watching Netflix.
Actually, ugh that’s horribly morbid. I’m not ready to go. Let’s keep eating the cookie dough with fingers crossed.
Can You Use Neufchatel Cheese In Place of Cream Cheese?
This is the age old question isn’t it, can you substitute low fat, or Neufchatel cream cheese in place of regular cream cheese?
Heck yes, buddy! American Cream Cheese and American Neufchâtel can be used interchangeably!
Neufchatel cheese has a smooth texture and it tastes like cream cheese, so there’s no issue there for sure.
Neufchatel has less fat and calories than cream cheese which means you just got to take a double spoonful.
Is Powdered Sugar the Same As Confectioner’s Sugar?
If you ever watch the Great British Baking Show you hear them use all sorts of names for different sugars. So is powdered sugar the same as confectioner’s sugar?
Yes, you bet! Confectioners’ sugar and powdered sugar are the same thing.
Confectioners’ sugar, or powdered sugar is granulated sugar that has been ground to a fine powder.
In fact….
What to Use if You Don’t Have Powdered Sugar
Oh man, I hate when I’m short just one stinking ingredient! If you don’t have powdered sugar you can actually make it!
Stick sugar in a blender and let it fly until you’ve got confectioner’s sugar.

Are Vanilla Wafers Gluten Free?
It’s always a tricky thing when a crowd is coming for a party. You want to be sure there’s something for everyone which these days involves watching out for allergies. Vanilla wafers are made with wheat flour, so unfortunately Vanilla wafers are not gluten free.
But don’t worry, head down the gluten free section and you can find plenty of substitutes.
Vanilla Wafers
Actually, did you know they are actually called, Nilla Wafers? “The more you know…”

This is amazingggggg! I think I’m going to add peppermint extract & green food coloring next time to make mint chocolate chip cheesecake dip! 🤩
That’s a brilliant idea! So glad you loved it!
How long would this last refrigerated if made ahead of time?
It is great made ahead for up to 2-3 days.
This is a “lick the bowl” recipe, I will drag this out of the old recipe box (yes I have one, in honor of Mom), for all future events/holidays.
Super fantastic !!!
Thanks
Thank you!! You’ve made my day!
