Caramel and Nutella Hazelnut Brownies

I cannot wait to try these brownies. They looked, smelled and felt delicious. Seriously, they felt so moist taking them out of the pan. I do think they were a bit flat, but that could easily be solved by baking them in a smaller pan (I doubled the recipe and baked in a 9×13)
Can you just imagine these served warm with a big ol’ scoop of ice cream?

Soft, chewy, moist these brownies are more than perfect all by themselves but they would also be great with a scoop of ice cream on the side. YUM!

  • Recipe adapted from Tasty Kitchen
  • 1/2 cups All-purpose Flour
  • 1/3 cups Cocoa Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted Butter (Room Temperature)
  • 2 whole Large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 cups Evaporated Milk
  • 3/4 Bag of unwrapped caramels
  • 1/4 cups Nutella - Melted

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Into a mixing bowl, add flour, baking powder, salt and cocoa powder. Whisk together and set aside.
  3. In a mixer add sugar and butter; cream together. Add in eggs one at a time and mix well. Add in vanilla.
  4. Slowly add in your flour mixture until it’s well combined with the other ingredients. Batter should be thick and sticky.
  5. Spray an ovenproof dish {10 x 7} with cooking spray. Place a piece of parchment paper (slightly larger than your dish to allow for easy removal) inside. It will adhere to the bottom of the dish. Spray the top of parchment paper with cooking spray.
  6. Spread HALF of your brownie batter on top of the parchment paper.
  7. Slowly melt the evaporated milk and caramels together, stirring frequently.
  8. Take your caramel sauce and pour it over the brownie mixture. With a spoon gently spread. Place the remaining brownie batter on top, smoothing it out.
  9. Bake for approximately 30-40 minutes or until sides are firm.
  10. Make a small indentation with your finger into each brownie. Take your melted Nutella and drizzle over the tops of the brownies.

This recipe is baked in a 10×7 baking pan. They make 6 large brownies.
