Indulge in a healthy chocolate and strawberries treat that’s both delicious and feel-good. This quick recipe satisfies sweet cravings without the guilt. No baking, no fuss, just simple ingredients and fresh flavor.

Needed: A Healthy Dessert That Still Feels Like A Treat
My girlfriend is always saying she needs to stop eating my treats because I’m constantly making her test my “experiments.” I wanted to come up with a healthier dessert for her – something easy, with Nutella and strawberries, but all my ideas (stuffed berries, mixing in Cool Whip) just didn’t feel quite right.
This Healthy Chocolate Dip Started as a Total Accident
We had a little vanilla Greek yogurt left in the fridge, so I swirled in some Nutella just to see. And just like that, Healthy Chocolate and Strawberries was born! It’s fresh and delicious, and much healthier than your typical dip. In fact, one little Chobani Greek yogurt has 16g of protein – much better for you than chocolate sauce, wouldn’t you say?
It’s been a go-to in our house ever since. It’s the perfect after school snack, fruit and dip for a special occasion, or a late-night treat when you’re craving something sweet but light. It tastes like chocolate-covered strawberries but with less work and way better ingredients!

What to Serve with Delicious Chocolate Dip
I am a total sucker for all things strawberry! You all know that my favorite dessert of all time is strawberry shortcake, so I always default to strawberries or anything berry.
But you don’t have to just dip strawberries in this chocolate yogurt dip. Here’s a list of great options for dipping in this yogurt Nutella dip:
- Strawberries
- Raspberries
- Bananas
- Apples
- Pretzels
- Nilla Wafers
- Graham Crackers
NOTE: If you like a little texture in your chocolate fruit dip, toss a few mini chocolate chips in it.

Ingredients for Healthy Chocolate and Strawberry Recipe
You only need 2 ingredients for this healthy chocolate fruit dip! It’s so simple, the kiddos could even make it on their own. Here is what you need:
- Vanilla Greek Yogurt: Creamy, high in protein, and lightly sweet. Use your favorite high-quality brand for the best flavor and nutrition, we love Chobani.
- Nutella: Adds rich chocolate-hazelnut flavor with just the right amount of sweetness. (Tip: Costco sells the big jars!)
- Fresh Strawberries: Juicy, sweet, and loaded with antioxidants. Use ripe berries and serve at room temp for the best flavor.
You can scale this recipe up for a crowd or down for a quick, healthy snack. Thanks to the Nutella, there’s no need for cocoa powder – it’s plenty chocolatey all on its own!

How to Make Healthy Chocolate and Strawberries
Just 2 ingredients: mix and chill, done.
- Serve with strawberries: Rinse and dry your berries, then serve at room temperature.
- Stir the dip: Mix the Greek yogurt and Nutella in a small bowl until smooth.
- Chill: Refrigerate for 30 minutes or up to a day.
Variations and Substitutions
- Turn it into a yogurt parfait by layering the Nutella yogurt with sliced strawberries or other fresh berries.
- Add granola between layers for crunch, perfect for breakfast or a mid-day snack.
- Top with some nuts: sliced almonds, coconut flakes, chopped pecans would all work well.

FAQ About Healthy Chocolate and Strawberries
Greek yogurt is strained 3 times to remove most of the liquid, making it thicker, creamier, and more concentrated than regular yogurt. It also has a stronger flavor and significantly more protein, which makes it perfect for this healthy dip.
Keep fresh strawberries in the refrigerator to extend their shelf life. Don’t wash them until you’re ready to eat – moisture speeds up mold. Sort out any bruised or soft berries, line the container with a paper towel, and store the rest in a single layer if possible.
Store any leftover chocolate yogurt dip in an airtight container in the fridge. It’ll keep for up to 5 days. Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving to let the flavors meld.

This creamy Nutella and yogurt combo is a simple, healthier take on chocolate for dipping strawberries. It’s fresh, no-fuss, and somehow turns a plain bowl of fruit into the thing everyone’s suddenly hovering over. Just try it once – you’ll be hooked.

While I have serious doubts this is healthy by any measure, I do think it will be great to include at a valentines day party I’m hosting. It sounds delicious! I think visually they will look great next to these: https://www.californiastrawberries.com/strawberry-chia-jam-thumbprint-cookies/
Sweet Basil
That looks like a great combo!

This looks amazing but nutella isn’t healthy at all!! A half cup has 1600 calories, 96 grams of fat and 168 grams of sugar!!!
cheryl
Sorry, a full cup ^. But still!
Sweet Basil
No, it’s not, but what I was saying is it’s better than those over the top chocolate strawberries (that at the time) every blog was posting. Remember that? Chocolate cheesecake strawberries, chocolate butterfinger strawberries, etc etc. Good mercy it was crazy!

Or you can just add chocolate powder and some coconut sugar or agave syrup or no sugar at all. Got to try this stuff anyway.
Jasmine
Looks good. I will probably modify it. Nutella is anything but healthy.
Sweet Basil
no, it’s definitely not healthy, but it’s healthier than the normal fondue chocolate for dipping which is what we were going for. 🙂
