Honey, Lemon Basil Chicken

Friendship is one of those things that I treasure. If you read this post, and of course grab the recipe, you’ll know exactly why.

I believe that we all need to let our light shine. If we all spent more time building each other up we all would be succeeding and feeling more peace, love and happiness. In fact my husband told me that there are people who breath life and then there’s the life suckers.

Life Breathers

Some people breath life into you. They make you stronger, better, lovelier and you walk away a better person. Everyone take a moment and think, who is it in your life that breathes life into you? For me, it is, of course my husband, but there are many others. Read the link above if you haven’t already to know why he sustains and supports me.

Life Suckers

Then there are the life suckers. They suck the life out of everyone. They can’t keep friendships because they are so sad and unhappy that they cannot stop dragging others down as well. These are the people who are always looking to build themselves up, whether by lying, gossiping, tearing others down and what not. They may not even realize that they do it, but they do. And here is the tricky thing, these people will drag you down, but you may not even realize it.

I’ve learned that I can watch my actions and what I say, but that I do not have to keep those people in my life. In fact, I don’t have to feel anger towards them at all, but instead love them for who they are and pray that they will have experiences to change their hearts. It’s not that they aren’t in your life because you are being mean or wish ill will upon them, instead it’s choosing to surround yourself with “life breathers”, ones that will make you better and that you can be safe with.

It’s time for a constant effort to be “life breathers”… It’s time to not only be one ourselves, but to help others be them as well. It’s time to surround ourselves with the good, and strong. Kind of like Deborah from Taste and Tell. Clearly my hubby is my number one, and while I have a lot of wonderful people in my life, Deborah and I have become dear friends. Let me introduce you to a real “life breather”.

A Real “Life Breather”-Deborah from Taste and Tell

Deborah and I met a while back, but at EVO’12 we really got to talk and get to know each other. Blogging is a tricky thing. I’ll talk more about this later, but let’s just say that it requires a ton of work and most of us are just trying to make ourselves known. Sometimes it can be hard to be a blogger. There’s a lot of competition and some see each other as just that, competition. I don’t feel that way. Especially after talking with Deborah.

Deborah has a kind and tender heart that can be used for so much good in the world. She works her little tail off. She strives to do and be good at all times. Deborah is a true friend. She helps me to feel like I am worth it. She helped me to end the comparing and feeling like I could never catch up. Instead, we have decided to be grateful for every blessing, big or small, and to take care of those around us. It’s about love. It’s about sharing each other’s posts, commenting, and lifting each other up. We each deserve happiness and Deborah helps everyone around her to feel cared for, appreciated, and safe.

After talking with Deborah, the world doesn’t seem so hard anymore. Things are a little more clear, and life has been breathed back into you.

Honey Lemon Grilled Chicken

And I couldn’t end this post without mentioning Stephanie from, The Daily Blarg. Stephanie is how I got hooked up with Where Women Cook. I cannot wait to get to know the women behind both sites. I guarantee that they are wonderful people.
