The southern cheese cookies/crackers/or biscuits, whichever you choose to call them are much more than just a delicious snack. These also come along with a fun memory and a new tradition at our house. My mother-in-law taught me how to make these southern cheese crackers after her sweet friend taught her how to make them. I love pass along recipes. A little story about the person or recipe can make anything better, and I cannot wait to one day meet Miss Mary because she sounds like an absolute doll.
My Mother-in-Law is a true southern lady. She totally has the accent and says loads of crazy words like,
buggy instead of shopping cart, pocketbook instead of purse,

This is what Miss Nancy, my MIL says about the cheese biscuits, “This recipe was given to Mary Greene of Columbia and Beaufort, South Carolina by her Aunt Mimi. Miss Mimi made these as treats for her friends and family, who all looked forward to enjoying them at every get together. Since her passing Miss Mary follows her sweet Aunt’s tradition.”
I seriously do love traditions, and I can totally hear the southern drawl of her voice as she tells me about the southern foods.
So, if you’re on board with the ol’ Southern Thanksgiving, (gosh, even if you aren’t you should probably make these) make these crisp, little nuggets of goodness to munch on while you’re waiting for that glorious turkey to cook.

Southern Cheese Crackers

haha, looks like it’s pulling the calories for the whole batch, I better fix that!
