Everyone Has a Story to Tell

This is my darling Grandma. My mother’s mother. She is the best story teller. She even wrote each of us grand kids a book about her life. Stay tuned because in the next month or so I’ll be sharing some of her stories.

Well, it’s shaping up to be a really good year at our house. Cade got accepted into his Masters program at SUU in Cedar City, Utah and we have been loving doing the blog full time. One thing that we have especially been enjoying is telling our story more and looking into our past.

One conference that I am really looking forward to is the Story@Home conference that is coming up in January. I love how they put it…

“No matter how you tell your stories – through your family history, at your child’s bedside, on your blog, or from a stage – your stories matter. Join us for a conference that will change the way you see your stories and the world, and help you connect in new ways with those you cherish most.

Workshops and performances by award-winning storytellers, performers and speakers, will help you explore ways to use the power of story in your home. You’ll be able to record your own story, start on some research to learn more about your family’s history, get started on a blog and learn how to tell your story through social media.”

I want my kids to “know” the people that came before them, and how we are blessed because of their strengths and sacrifices. Stories from the past, present, and hopes and dreams for the future make us stronger. We need strength right now. Families are crumbling, the government is all kinds of crazy ;) , people need money etc, and guess what, telling your story, listening to others and passing it on will change your life. Truly.

So, would you like to attend the conference? I definitely want to see you there!!

“The agenda is once again full of phenomenal speakers and workshop presenters and at only $79 for a full-conference pass (two days; meals not included), it’s a total steal. Plus, Story@Home is held in beautiful downtown Salt Lake City just a short walk from Temple Square and the new City Creek Center.”

Or, you could just win a pass from me!!
