This delicious frozen yogurt treat is a great way to choose healthier treats.
I hear the same thing time and time again, “As soon as the kids are in bed I want to relax with a late night treat.” The problem with the late night munchies is that you aren’t doing anything active, so you are just going to lay in bed with those calories, eating right before bed actually messes with good quality sleep, and it’s a nasty habit to get into. And I do mean habit, even after you’ve had a huge dinner, and are so full you cannot imagine having another bite, you’ll find that once those kids are in bed you’re back at the pantry or freezer door looking for a treat. Your body doesn’t need or even want it, your mind does. It’s become a habit.
You may have your hankering for something sweet, but it’s time to take control.
7 Easy Tricks to Curb Late Night Snacking
1. Pick a day for your sweet tooth. We generally leave sweets for the weekend. We are home more and find ourselves wanting a yummy treat.
2. Set a time limit. I personally try to avoid snacking after 7:00pm. It’s a healthier decision and keeps me sleeping better.
3. Brush your Teeth. Brushing your teeth after dinner, or after your evening treat will help you to avoid further snacking. You’ll remember that you’ve already brushed your teeth for bed and therefore feel more guilty if you indulge in something.
4. Find healthier subs like this frozen greek yogurt that is so much better than cookies and ice cream.
5. Get away from the kitchen and do something, even if it means just going to bed. Being around the kitchen makes you subconsciously think of the snack that’s in there. Go upstairs, read a book, give your loved one a foot massage and make sure you ask for one in return. Just remove yourself from the room that tempts you. \
6. If you do have a snack in the evening (or any time of day) do not eat it in front of the tv or computer. Studies show that we eat more than we even realize when we are parked in front of the tv or computer.
7. Have a glass of water. Did you know that thirst is often confused for hunger? A tall glass of water actually does help you to avoid having another snack.
This is one of those snacks that you can feel better about, and you’ll satisfy your sweet tooth. You can even bag up the crumble topping and save one bag for member of your family so you aren’t tempted to eat half the pan yourself. Plus, this is greek yogurt, so not only is it better than ice cream, it’s got the added protein to really take it over the top.
Creamy frozen yogurt with extra nutrition and a warm, buttery crumble that resembles a cookie over the top.
Ingredients
- 2 6 oz Containers Greek Yogurt-any flavor

- 3/4 Cup Brown Sugar
- 3/4 Cup Oats
- 6 Tablespoons Butter, unsalted
- 1/4 Teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1 pinch of salt
Instructions
- Place both containers of frozen yogurt in an ice cream machine. Follow manufacturer instructions.
- Place in a freezer container, and set aside.
- Heat the oven to 350 degrees.
