Home fried chips with sea salt. Kind of the most addicting thing ever ohsweetbasil.com

I wish my mandolin would slice even more thin than this because I’d love to see through these chips, but trust me these crispy sea salt chips are totally awesome and if you serve up a big bowl the next time you have friends over you’ll be the new favorite in the neighborhood for something that literally takes two ingredients.

Just slice up a few good russet potatoes, fry in really hot oil and toss into a bowl with sea salt then serve right away! There’s something so wonderful about fresh, hot, salty chips. It’s almost as wonderful as the kids going to bed on time without a fuss. Mine prefer to suddenly have a million things to tell us and ask us about. Our bedtime routine is becoming quite long but I’m trying to enjoy it since I know I’ll miss the noise someday.

Is Sea Salt Different Than Table Salt?

Table salt is more heavily processed to eliminate minerals and usually contains an additive to prevent clumping.

Sea salt and table salt have the same basic nutritional value, and contain comparable amounts of sodium by weight.

Can Sea Salt Be Used in Pickling?

Pure sea salt can be used in pickling.

Kosher salt is also a great alternative salt for pickling.

What Kind of Potatoes Are Best For Chips?

Russet potatoes or purple potatoes are most commonly used for chips.

These look so perfect, just like shop-bought! But I bet they’re even tastier 🙂 I think I’d try them with a bit of smoked paprika too!
