Our family's FAVORITE snack! Frozen Yogurt Banana Dippers ohsweetbasil.com

This is one of those family favorites that for whatever reason I’ve never taken photos so I could post about it. Well, that ends today! You guys, these frozen yogurt banana dippers are the most requested snack out our house and that includes us adults. We all love them! They are similar to the frozen yogurt banana pops, but so much easier to eat!

We also make sure to use greek yogurt so we get a little extra protein and less sugar, but you can totally use whatever kind of yogurt you want. These are so yummy if we need a snack on a hot day or even an after dinner treat as they remind us of ice cream! Which brings me to my next point! Our kids love that we can go to the store and pick out whatever flavor of yogurt and turn this simple snack into something even more awesome! So you could do a strawberry banana flavor, caramel yogurt, blackberry pie etc! It’s so fun!

And the best part? The kids can do it all for me. I slice up the bananas, let the girls gently dry them off a little with a napkin, and dip them in the yogurt then place them on a parchment paper lined baking sheet for freezing. If I’m lazy then I use my already sliced and frozen bananas that we normally use for smoothies and dip them.

Oh!! And I’ve been so excited I forgot to mention something awesome! These are fantastic in our green smoothies (or just regular shakes or smoothies!) We love that it thickens the drink without adding ice which gives a looser texture, and it’s easy to pop in without opening bananas or yogurt and not using all of it then you have to store the leftovers. You know what I mean? Anyway, it’s pretty much awesome and I hope you all go pin crazy with it!

How Long Will Frozen Yogurt Last?

Frozen yogurt will keep for 2-3 months.

Are Bananas Good For You?

It keeps the heart beating regularly and can reduce the effect of sodium on blood pressure.

My son is 9yr old and loves to cook. I surprised him when he came home from school with frozen bananas, ready to coat. We only happened to have one container of yoplait original-strawberry yogurt, so we dipped in each chunk of frozen banana to coat and place on paper plate (dixie has wax coating) and one container (6oz personal serving) coated one banana (cut up). Perfect! We coated, froze them, then let them sit for 5 minutes and ate. These are amazingly delicious snack. I love the idea for popping them into shakes/smoothies!! Thanks so much!!

Thanks Jen! We love to throw them in our smoothies too! Aren’t they so good for being just 2 ingredients!
