Every time we post a dip recipe Cade and I end up singing, “When I dip, you dip, we dip…” That’s the only part of the song we remember, so it gets old pretty fast. We are both big suckers for dip recipes, especially during football or basketball season, but this pineapple habanero dip is perfect for year round.
It’s a little different than your normal cream cheese and cranberry dip, and it’s just as delicious as a gooey chorizo queso dip, but it totally has its own thing going on. We start by beating cream cheese until smooth then fold in queso fresco or if I’m craving something more salty we do cotija cheese. Then, pour a little of your favorite pineapple habanero salsa over the top (we buy ours from costco and make this amazing pork too) and serve with pita chips or crackers!
Can Habanero Peppers Burn Your Skin?
Habanero Peppers can burn your skin.
If you get the habanero pepper oil on your skin, it is important to remove it as soon as possible, otherwise the burning could continue for hours.
Use milk, yogurt, lemon or lime juice to neutralize the burn.
If chili peppers make your mouth or throat burn, don’t drink water!
Drink milk or eat yogurt to help with the burning.
Are Habanero Peppers Hotter Than Jalapenos?
Habanero peppers are among the hottest of hot peppers.
The hottest habanero would be 140 times hotter than the mildest jalapeño.
Is Pineapple Good for You?

your rice beef mushroom soup recipe makes me think of quick easy but get that time with your family kind of meal I loved making in our home — here’ s one you’ll appreciate: use canned diced potatoes — instant mashed potatoes – -any flavor variety that floats your boat — some milk of half and half or none – even water will work — you do need a fat and I’ve found I can’ t believe it’s not butter has more flavor than something like parkay – -but the easiest remedy for no butter – -Idaho makes a buttery version and it really does taste buttery — if you are using margarine or butter, drain your potatoes with the water going into your soup pot – melt your butter or margarine in this and add some water according to how thick you like your potatoe soup, you whisk the water from the canned potatoes along with at least a cup of water and some milk/half and half or cream or none, remember – with the envelope of instant mashed potatoes — over stirring to make them smooth and silky — add your can of diced potatoes — and you have instant homemade tasting potato soup — and it really does work — I add some parsley and cracked black pepper and a dash of sugar — it’s awesome — and made so quickly you will do it over and over again — enjoy! 🙂
That sounds fabulous!! Thank you for sharing with us!
Recipe????? Buy this buy that and mix it?
Isn’t that what all recipes are? Salsa, buy tomatoes, cilantro, jalapeno, limes, mix. 😉 It’s really worth trying if you like dips. 🙂
I made this today for a potluck after church and served it with pita chips. It was delicious! Blending the cream cheese gives it a smooth texture and folding in the queso fresco gives your taste buds a little more to explore. I used the roasted pineapple habanero from Costco and it was a perfect balance of sweet and heat! Thank you for sharing your recipe, I will use this one again.
So glad that you enjoyed it! I hope that salsa never goes away from Costco. We need to make up our own version just in case.
I love the idea of sweet and spicy. Yum!! I am looking forward to making this.
Thanks Marisa, enjoy!!
