It is an apple time of year, and I don’t know about you, but I’m always looking for a new way to enjoy such a delicious fruit. I love apple pie. I love apple crisp. And now I love fried apples. And how could you not? After creating my Deep Fried Peaches, I realized that I wasn’t really fulfilling my deep fried desserts potential unless I went for an easy deep fried apple pie. (I’m already thinking of new ways to fry things. I’m trying really hard to resist. I promise. So far it’s not happening.) I love that this is a new way to enjoy the bounty of apples that everyone is bringing in.

This recipe is super easy with just apples that get soft in the microwave, and dunked in a quick batter, then fried to perfect followed by a final dunk in a bowl of cinnamon sugar. Have I told you how I love cinnamon sugar? Such a simple mixture, and yet it’s perfectly perfect.
A New Way To Use Cinnamon Sugar
I guess that this is more of an old way, but I used to sprinkle cinnamon sugar on ritz crackers. What?! I know it’s not healthy! I just thought it was delicious. And it is. My mom would catch me hiding in the pantry, pulling out a ritz, and carefully covering it with sugar. Clearly some would escape through the holes and onto the floors, but I didn’t care. I was treating myself to a wonderful snack. Now days I would never do that, although is a smear of Nutella on a graham cracker any better? Anyway, I triple dog dare one of you to try it. It’s delicious.

Are Apple Good For You?
Apples are extremely rich in important antioxidants, flavanoids, and dietary fiber.
These may help reduce the risk of developing cancer, hypertension, diabetes, and heart disease.
Apples are a very healthy snack.
What Oil Is Best For Frying?
Peanut oil is the best oil for frying.
It has a neutral taste, and a high smoking point.
Canola or vegetable oil, safflower and extra light olive oil are also good choices.
